Mission

Confectioner Hawaiian Host has a long-standing reputation for creating the go-to souvenir for tourists in Hawaii. But when they spotted an opportunity to develop a new line of luxury chocolates, they needed a partner who could help take this new part of their brand to the next level – attracting a new audience and raising the bar for Hawaiian luxury.

Solution

We researched Hawaii’s history, legends and its design language to develop a new sub-brand – KOHO. It was a name and identity that stemmed from our positioning, Found for You, which placed the brand as a connoisseur that seeks out and selects the best of Hawaii.

We knew that to create a brand with soul, we needed to capture the essence of Hawaii and focus on the right aspects of its modern character.

We employed our knowledge of the Japanese market to create a strategic platform for growth, and we drafted a brand architecture model that allows the brand to stand alone and expand.

Successfully launching the brand with covetable packaging and designing a retail space for Honolulu’s Ala Moana Center, we’ve helped a heritage brand to expand into a new market and ensure a trajectory that will take it global.
